My Top Tip To Help You Reduce Your Regrets.

As we get older, we can so easily see or hear something that may trigger our regret buttons.

As a result, you may immediately feel an overwhelming shame or self-hatred possibly even sadness, that you’ve wasted time or that you should’ve said or done things differently, made different choices and so on. You may even wonder how things may have turned out had you chosen a different path. And when this happens, I urge you to do this exercise.

With your mind’s eye, and starting around the time when you finished school, try to remember the situations that forced you to make certain choices. Or maybe you should’ve made a choice, but didn’t. Also, if you had chosen a different path, what might it have been or what might have happened?

Then write down the mistakes you think you made. You can also add what you did right. However, for the purposes of this exercise, you need to write down the choices that you can remember, when thinking back to the moments you feel you could have done better.

Number how many mortifying, horrifying choices you made and then add them up.

Hopefully, compared to all the things you’ve got right, what you got wrong is miniscule. If so, keep that number in your head for future reference for when that regret…
