The Unexpected Value of Internet Algorithms, Trolls or Bots.

The Internet is like the ocean — vast, mysterious, and teeming with life. You can admire it from the shore, or you can plunge in — to swim, sail, explore, or fish for opportunity. But the moment you dip your toe in, beware. Jellyfish sting. Rip tides pull you under. And if there’s blood in the water, the sharks will circle — and more will come, drawn by the frenzy.

Social media is no different. The moment you post, you enter the current. You might be praised, ignored, or torn apart. You might attract love — but it’s hatred that attracts more. Because the truth is simple: drama sells.

And drama is encouraged by the algorithms, trolls or bots — the real predators. They don’t feed on peace or kindness — unless, of course, it involves cats. They are programmed to hunt for shock, outrage, anger, and conflict — anything that gets hearts racing and fingers clicking.

And it works. Outrage fuels engagement. Engagement fuels profit. Each click, comment, and share — teaches the system to serve more of what provokes you. Creators, hungry for visibility, feed the cycle — more clickbait, more rage, more noise.
