We Get What We Focus On.
I suggest we all become aware that we get what we focus on.
This happens not only in politics (Simply put: Brexiteeers focused on Brexit and got it. Remainers focused on what they didn’t want — but got it nevertheless. Republicans focused on what they wanted and got it. Democratics focused on what they didn’t want and got that too and so on. Protesters focus on what they don’t want — and often the situation gets worse and worse and often it leads to violence), but in real life this happens as well.
How?
If we focus on our pain, our fears, our worries, if we focus on financial lack and so on, often it can get worse.
More importantly — is what it does to our emotions and our bodies:
We can begin to feel even more out of control, more angry, more hate, knowing that we are unable to fix or control a situation. It can even make us sick.
Instead, learn to focus on what you do want.
Also, try to sit quietly and start focusing on your breath. Then, try to think of something you love, or something that brings you joy. Smile and feel your heart opening.
Then, no matter how little you feel you have, look around you and start counting what you DO have. This will help you feel less stressed.
