What is your experience or thoughts on this: Is the younger generation crying for help, or are they coping maybe even far better than we ever did?

I have numbered the concerns 1–5, and in brackets I offer another viewpoint:

1) So many in this generation were left by parents who (possibly had to), returned to work far too early, when we all know that children need their parents to be there for them, at home, for at least the first 3–6 years of their lives.

(Of course, many children who attend early childcare still thrive — especially if the care is high-quality and the home relationship remains secure. The challenge is that in some countries, work demands plus insufficient parental leave do make quality attachment harder to maintain).

2) If this isn’t in place, parents can and often due to their guilt, give these kids far too much, in trying to make up for spending long hours at work.

(But this is not universal. Many working parents set firm boundaries and foster strong values despite busy schedules).

3) Either way, this has led to many feeling emotionally and physically abandoned, along with feelings of entitlement but also, many are unskilled for adult life. And these days, evidence certain suggests today’s young adults are reporting higher rates of anxiety, depression, and perceived…
